New work in watercolour and watercolour media exploring the visual connections between the fabric of the City and the surrounding landscape. Most pieces begin from a surface created through composing elements of collage materials using instinct and a natural sense of relationship to seen experiences that I have recorded in sketchbooks or photographs and made connections. The spontaneity of watercolours gives you one chance, this has developed an energetic and frantic approach rather than being constrained by the reality of a place, the reality of the experience has become important each attempt makes a connection to viewpoints found in my environment.
