Trees - Light - Shadows.

The paintings explore changes, in the direction and strength of the light and movement of the trees,Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter, and from East to West as they are projected onto the surface of a flat wall. The observations have been made during the last 5 years. Time is a factor, as the wall has changed in appearance, from a new build surface to one now covered in algae, and the beginnings of lichen. Nature is gradually reclaiming, the climate created by the trees, weather, and sun, making the negative space and shadows, paint their own never ending mural on the wall, with leaves and branches. This challenges the way I record, and translate in to paint. It is an evolving history of the wall.
First 6 paintings are Acrylic on canvas. Last 6 are Oil on canvas. All exploring the way sunlight interacts with the natural forms of trees through different seasons of the year.
